Steps To Apply For A Canada Visitor Visa

  1. Choose Your Application Method: Decide if you will apply online or via paper submission.
  2. Prepare Required Documents: Gather all the necessary documents to prove your eligibility for the visa.
  3. Complete the Application:
    • Online: Create an account on the IRCC portal and submit your application
    • Offline: Submit your application to the nearest Visa Application Center
  4. Pay the Fees: Use a credit or debit card (American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Union Pay, or JCB) to pay the application fee.
  5. Submit Biometrics: Visit the nearest Visa Application Center to provide your biometrics
  6. Submit Your Passport: Once your application is approved, send your passport for visa stamping.
  7. Track Your Application: Use the unique tracking number provided to monitor the status of your application

Required Documents For A Canadian Tourist Visa

  1. Application Form: Fill out and submit the visitor visa application form correctly
  2. Identity Document: Provide a color copy of your passport, including the bio data page and any pages with visa stamps or markings
  3. Family Information: Complete the Family Information Form (IMM5645) for all visitors over 18 years old to assess visa eligibility
  4. Photographs: Two recent passport-sized photos (35mm x 45mm) with a plain white or light-colored background, taken within the last six months. Refer to www.cic.gc.ca for detailed photo specifications
  5. Bank Statem0ents: Submit bank statements from the last six months, including the bank's name, contact information, and balances to demonstrate financial stability
  6. Travel Itinerary: Provide details of your flight and accommodation to outline your stay in Canada
  7. Travel History: Include copies of previous visas, entry and exit stamps, or old passports to show past travel experience
  8. Representative Form: If someone else completes your application, submit a 'Use of Representative Form' (Form 5476)
  9. Minor Applicants: If the applicant is a minor, provide a consent letter and additional documents depending on whether they are traveling alone or with a parent/relative

Cost Of A Canadian Tourist Visa

  1. Application Fee: $100 CAD per applicant. A family of five or more applying together pays $500 CAD.
  2. Biometrics Fee: $85 CAD per applicant. For families of two or more, the total fee is $170 CAD.

Processing Time For A Canadian Visitor Visa

Duration Of Stay On A Canadian Tourist Visa

Indian visitors with a tourist visa are generally allowed to stay in Canada for up to 6 months. In some cases, a border services officer may specify a shorter stay, which will be indicated on your passport.

Extending Your Stay In Canada

To extend your stay beyond the initial period, you must apply for a visitor record before your current visa expires. This document extends your stay but does not permit re-entry into Canada. The fee for extending your stay is $100 CAD.
